I’ve witnessed people creating not just buildings, but cities and old historical areas with the landmarks.
If you want to build a modern house, though, you are going to need a lot of resources and I mean literally A LOT OF STUFF. Luckily, it’s not that hard! To build a modern house in Minecraft.
When building a modern house in Minecraft, you can do it easily when you follow these simple steps.
How To Build a Modern House in Minecraft Easy steps
1. The first step is to build a rectangular shape. It depends on you if you want to start with a rectangle or a much simpler square shape.
whatever the shape you decide, it needs to be the size you want your house to be or you thing would look best. In this case, I will be using a rectangle shaped house
2. Next, build a square out of blocks in the middle of the rectangle and make sure to cover the sides evenly.
3. Then, build a smaller rectangle around the square to have the pillars settled and ready for the second floor.
It is not required that you must create a second floor. But it would look much nicer when you have a second floor with some added rooms and a cool outlook for your house.
Plus, it will give you more added space to play around with stuff like a hanging garden. A balcony with some cool lighting setup or a view of the horizon.
4. Next, build a rectangle that is the same size as the first floor on top of the pillars and the smaller square, make sure to have a hole in the center to build access stairs for the second floor.
5. Next, build a smaller rectangle on top of the first floor rectangle just like we did with the ground floor as this will be the roof for your second floor.
6. Next, build a platform that is 3 blocks high. The purpose for building additional platform is to give it a elevated look just like real life modern houses have.
7. Then, build a staircase that leads up to the roof. It is essential to have staircase on each level to provide access.
Stairs can be designed in different ways as you see fit. Usually I leave a 6 block space in each platform either on the side or the center.
8. Next, build the roof. Building a roof is the easiest part in the initial phase but it is up to you if you want to add more features to it.
For example, building a single room for play area or a fine dinning room.
9. Once you the roof platform built then, build the walls and another roof over the room that you’ve just built or leave it open.
To make the roof even more interesting, you can add light blue glass panes on the roof of the room you built to give it a premium star gazing room type of look.
10. The final part for me is always the doors for each staircase and the entrance. But again, it is up to you if you want to build the door along with each platform.
But for me, doors are always the final part of the house.
Finally, you have a beautiful looking house and now you can focus on the interior of your house.

My suggestion for the interior is, go crazy! do everything you can to make your house stand out from the inside.
One of the easiest way is to build a one-story house with minimum details on the inside and make it look like a big rectangle room with a couple windows on all three sides of that rectangle.
Then you will need a door on that one side where you don’t have any windows. It would look even better if you can have an iron door but to get started any material would do.
Once you have the foundation completed for a one story house, you can then expand your structure and make it into a two-story house.
and then you can add a second floor to it with a balcony, which increases the overall size of the house.
Now you can expand it even more if you wish by adding a third floor to the house. The third floor can be used for anything from a bedroom to a play room.
Secret Basement: Add-on fun
Building a cool basement would really make your modern house in Minecraft stand out and it will also add that wow factor.
Because the basement can be designed as a secret room like in the batman movies. Or a dungeon with that special medieval look.
It is really your decision, it would take some extra time to finish that cool basement. But trust me, it will be worth it.
Oh, don’t forget to add a secret passage to your basement behind the bookshelf or may be under the rug in your living room.
